LET’S NOT TAKE A RAINCHECK ON THOSE PLANS! HACKS FOR MONSOON SEASON!

We all have had a rainstorm that made us cancel those plans, because the uber would not stop hiking their rates! But, you get to live only once and why let the Monsoon weigh you down, honey. Here, are some hacks that can make you enjoy these occasional splashes. You could always wear a plastic bag and skip around in the rain but why let that cramp your style? We will suggest some styles that can help you up your fashion game even when the weather threatens to grow morose.

  1. SHORTS

You can never go wrong with them, until you got one riding up your butt crack. But, ladies we can wait to hit the beach to don on these pair of bad boys. They can be simple solid ones, with upturned hemline or the tattered ones- the ones that make your mum squirm. Wear a cute pair of shorts; step out in the rain, with an umbrella and no need to worry about puddles messing up your hemline.

  1. SHRUGS

Well, for starters they can help to soak those stray raindrops that your umbrella angle couldn’t handle. You could also try hooded shrugs; they could save you from getting greasy hair. And you can later throw them away and let your outfit under it breathe. Or, they can help hiding your drenched shirt just the day you decided to wear a colored brassier.

  1. DRESSES

Wear some dresses that hit you above your shin, so that no puddles stain those lovely fabrics. Well, it’s a whimsical sight to see a woman in a flowy dress trying to make her way across the puddles. Maxis, Shift Dresses, anything loose - nothing body hugging, since no one wants to be wrenched by stray eyeballs when you are too drenched.

  1. FOOTWEAR

Slip into some flats or be a sneaker girl if you don’t want your feet to be soiled. Or be a brave soul, remove those shoes and parade around bare feet till you reach your destination and use the tap to get the grit off. Or you could be silly, rocking some colored gumboots and enjoying the muddled puddles.

# COLOUR PALETTE

Wear darker colors, colors that won’t get you in trouble when you get all soaking wet. Pinks, maroons, blacks, a dark orange can help solve your woes.

# WEAR SYNTHETIC FABRIC

Cotton fiber would wick away all the water. Try some polyesters, rayons whose surface would help slide away most of the raindrops.

Remember girls, don’t be afraid to go ‘silly’. Maybe you discover a unique sense of style that others around you start imitating. You never know! So, don’t be afraid to go out there and express yourself.

Toodles till the next post! Stay Stylish. Be Silly. :)
