Red Carpet Update: Critics Choice Awards 2020
Another red carpet event was hosted by Hollywood. Being the fashion nerds that we are, we couldn’t help but stalk all the looks from the show. On one hand some celebrities shocked us with yet another brilliant look and on the other hand we had some celebs that were a big disappointment. As much as we love their onscreen talent, we hate their off screen stylists for putting these outfits together. Never mind the criticism; we are truly here to only celebrate the good. Here are our top 5 looks from the Critics’ Choice Awards, 2020.
ZENDAYA
Zendaya’s futuristic look had to be on our list the minute we saw that much pink in a single outfit. The look was put together by Tom Ford and was very unique. We loved the modern corset-like top. However, we do think the skirt could have been more couture-like. It was a red carpet event after all. The ensemble looked great all together. How can it not when Zendaya was the one to wear it!
CYNTHIA ERIVO
Fendi has been rocking every single red carpet look of this year. After the brilliant looks created by the brand at the Golden Globes red carpet, we were expecting more than one look for this event too. However, we are really grateful for the one look that we did receive. Cynthia Erivo wore a gown by Fendi. The look was strong, structural, unique as well as impactful!
OLIVIA WILDE
Olivia Wilde was seen on the carpet in a bright scarlet dress. The dress was designed by Valentino and made a unique yet remarkable impact. The look was minimal in a modern way and styled with simple earrings for accessories. The voluminous sleeves along with the beautifully constructed pleats were enough for it to be a memorable one.
JOEY KING
Joey King’s Golden Globes look was our most favourite one. Well she is back and this time in Prada. Wearing an all-silver ensemble, she looked like a beautifully organised mess. It has been a long time since we saw a good look by Prada on the red carpet. We are thrilled at Joey’s choice and can’t wait for what’s next already.
ALISON BRIE
Alison Brie was spotted walking the Critics’ Choice Awards’ carpet in a classic Maxwell design. We know that Brandon Maxwell’s designs are all about the fit and so was this look. The bright orange colour and the silhouette of the garment were the only things that were meant to stand out and they did. Maxwell excels at stitching simplicity and luxury in one, this look was a proof of that.
